Welcome To Nasir Memorial Welfare Trust
"The education which does not help the common mass of people to equip themselves for the struggle for life, which does not bring out strength of character, a spirit of philanthropy and the courage of a lion - is it worth the name? Real education is that which enables one to stand on his own legs. "
India is sadly the home to the largest number of child labourers in the world. The census found an increase in the number of child labourers from 11.28 million in 1991 to 12.59 million in 2001. Nasir Memorial Welfare Trust in Kolkata found nearly 10,000 children between seven and 14 years of age, working for 14-16 hours a day across the country.
Founded in 2013, the Nasir Memorial Welfare Trust is a membership-based, not-for-profit society registered under the laws of West Bengal, India, dedicated to promoting the interests and aspirations of child education and care.
